Single Server Network

If the MTA scanner is installed

Be sure to unload the MTA, and then Remove Scanner. Alternatively, unload the MTA, and edit the MTA startup file to remove all switches beginning with /vs. Then restart the MTA. You'll have to do the manual method if GWAVAMAN is not running at this point.

If the GWIA scanner is installed

Be sure to unload the GWIA and then Remove Scanner. Alternatively, unload the GWIA, and edit GWIA.CFG to remove the /SMTPHOME switch. Then restart the GWIA. You'll have to do the manual method if GWAVAMAN is not running at this point.

Now proceed with uninstalling GWAVA:

  1. Shut down all of the GWAVA agents, by typing /etc/init.d/gwavaman stop.
  2. Uninstall GWAVA by typing rpm -e gwavaman.
  3. Optionally remove remaining files from the GWAVA product tree by typing rm -rf /opt/beginfinite/gwava.
Note: There are a couple of other files that can be removed if performing a manual MTA scanner uninstall. These are /lib/libgwvsmod.so, /opt/novell/groupwise/agents/bin/gwavamta.xml, and/opt/novell/groupwise/agents/lib/libgwvsmod.so.

Removing One Server From An Existing NetWork

See Deleting/Renaming a GWAVA Server for how to remove the server from the GWAVA distributed network. At that point, you may then remove using the Single Server Network method, removing MTA and GWIA components manually.

Removing All Servers

  1. Shut down all GWAVA components on all servers using /etc/init.d/gwavaman stop
  2. Follow the Single Server Network instructions above, removing MTA and GWIA components manually.
