Sender, Recipient, Administrator, and Defined Address Notifications are generated for a message when an appropriately configured event is triggered. The administrator may specify the specific templates used to generate notifications, as well as customize the notification message with items such as a logo.

NOTE: As you make changes to your configuration, the disk icon Image:SaveButton.gif in the upper right corner of the page will become active and the words SAVE CHANGES will appear. Do not forget to click the icon to save your changes before moving to another page, or your changes will be lost.

Templates

The predefined template filenames are listed here for each major type of notification service. Each of these files is initially stored in <productRoot>/assets/global/templates.

IMPORTANT: You MUST read through all of the following information before customizing template files, otherwise changes you make may be overwritten by the online update service.
For notification template files, simply alter the filenames on this page to the customized page filenames.

Administrator Information

The Full Name and E-mail address are used in Administrator Notifications. In addition Sender, Recipient, and Defined Address Notifications will appear to originate from the Administrator, unless overridden (see below).

These two settings initially were inherited from whatever the analogous General Server Options parameters were when the scanner was installed.

Advanced Notification Settings

If you wish, you can have the Sender, Recipient, and Defined Address notifications appear to originate from an account other than an administrators. The usual motivation for this is to have replies from users go to a different e-mail account than the one that administrator notifications are sent.

You may also change the logo displayed in notification messages to your own organization's logo.
