GWAVA 3 Migration

GWAVA 3 users can migrate most of their settings over to GWAVA 4, including:

  • Virus Settings
  • Oversize Messages
  • Attachment Blocks
  • Content Filters
  • Fingerprints
  • Spam Settings
  • Address Blocks
  • Archive Settings
  • Exceptions

The settings may be migrated to any interface GWAVA supports, including the MTA, POA, and GWIA.

Migrating

Install the MTA, POA, or GWIA normally. (see the appropriate Installation sections).

In place of the Spam/Virus setup wizard page, the administrator will be prompted for the GWAVA 3 Configuration file

Browse to your configuration file, and click Continue

Tip: The configuration file should be located under your domain. For example: vol1:\domain\gwava\config\gmtacfg.ini

Installation will then proceed as if you were performing a normal install, except a log window will appear to show you what was imported and what caused an error.

Proceed normally, restarting your interface and other programs as instructed in the standard installation instructions.
