The administrator rarely needs to alter MTA interface properties. These are set up automatically during installation of the MTA scanner.

To look at the MTA interface properties, browse to the appropriate server, expand Manage scanners, expand the appropriate scanner, expand Configure MTA Settings, then click on Mail Interface Settings.

NOTE: As you make changes to your configuration, the disk icon Image:SaveButton.gif in the upper right corner of the page will become active and the words SAVE CHANGES will appear. Do not forget to click the icon to save your changes before moving to another page, or your changes will be lost.
  • Enable bypass mode - when selected, all messages passing through the MTA interface are simply "passed-through". There's no scan performed at all. Useful for diagnostics.
  • Enable logging to console - Normally the MTA interface logs to disk following the settings discussed under Logging. For diagnostic purposes, it may be useful to log to the console.
