The administrator rarely needs to alter GWIA interface properties. These are set up automatically during installation of the GWIA scanner.

To look at the GWIA interface properties, browse to the appropriate server, expand Manage scanners, expand the appropriate scanner, expand Configure GWIA Settings, then click on Mail Interface Settings.

NOTE: As you make changes to your configuration, the disk icon Image:SaveButton.gif in the upper right corner of the page will become active and the words SAVE CHANGES will appear. Do not forget to click the icon to save your changes before moving to another page, or your changes will be lost.
  • Scan Inbound Mail - if selected (default), inbound mail will be passed to the GWAVA scanning engine for processing. Otherwise, the mail will simply be passed along to the GWIA without any further scanning.
  • Scan Outbound Mail - if selected (default), outbound mail will be passed to the GWAVA scanning engine for processing. Otherwise, the mail will simply be passed along to the Internet without any further scanning.
  • GWIA home directory - where the GWVGWIA component will look for new mail. If you move the GWIA elsewhere, you'll need to change this setting. You'll probably also need to update your GWIA's startup file (GWIA.CFG) so the SMTPHOME switch points to the correct location.
  • Maximum scan threads - maximum number of messages that can be processed simultaneously.
