Configuring POA Job Schedules
From GWAVA4
Scheduling POA Scans
Unlike interfaces such as the MTA and GWIA which scan messages in real-time, the POA interface scans on a scheduled basis.
To set up a new POA scan, see Setting up a PO scanner. If you've chosen to configure the schedule during the install (which is the default) you'll be brought right to the POA scheduling page.
Of course, you might want to change the schedule later. You may do so by selecting the appropriate server, then clicking on Manage Scanners. Then click on the name of your scheduled scan, and choose Configure POA Job Settings
At the top are several critical settings
- NOTE: If you don't have Enable Job selected (and it is NOT selected by default), the job will never run
The Trusted Application Key must have been installed correctly while you were Setting up a PO scanner, and the POA hostname:port must be resolvable and pointing to a POA running IMAP.
Scrolling down you'll see a list options for what you can have scanned in the POA (Users, Resources, Trash). By default, they are all checked.
Further down you have the options for modifying Job Frequency. You can choose to run the job once, daily, weekly or monthly. When running the job once, you will need to select the day you would like the job run and the time. If running the job daily, then you only have to select the time you want the scan to run each day. When having the scan run weekly, then you need to select the day of the week you want the scan to be executed as well as the time. When scheduling the scan to run monthly, then you need to select the day of the month you want the scan to be executed as well as the time.
You also have the option of having GWAVA delete the job once it has completed.
Next, you can schedule a date range that you want the scan to be performed in. You have the options of: All Days, Number of days from job start, or Custom date range. Once you have configured the date range, you can select what users will be effected by the scan. The options are: All Users, Only users listed below, or All users except those listed below.
Finally, you may restrict GWAVAPOA to scanning only certain folders, or exclude certain folders.
Once you have configured everything to your satisfaction, make sure the job is enabled, and then click on Save Changes.
Monitoring the Job
The best way to monitor the active job is monitor the GWAVAPOA log. See Logging for more details.
Aborting an Active Job
If you return to this page while the job is active, you'll see a notice at the top that the job is active and an Abort Job button is visible. Click on it.
