Situation
GWAVA.NLM is constantly abending on the thread ct_sprep_prepmsd after GWAVA has been up for a minute or two.
Resolution
Possible conflict between GWAVA4 and a 3rd-party AV solution.
GWAVA4 will not function properly if a 3rd-party AntiVirus solution is scanning the same directories that GWAVA reads and writes to. This TID has information on what directories to exclude if running an AV scanner:

An oversized outgoing mail is attempting to be delivered.
Although GWAVA4 does have an option to discard or accept mail that meet certain size restrictions, mail that is too large (several hundred MegaBytes in size) can lead to GWAVA abending. Take the following steps to see if this could be an issue:
1) Shutdown GWAVA
2) Browse to OPT/BEGINFINITE/GWAVA4/SERVICES/GWIA_INTERFACE directory and delete any oversized mail(several hundred MegaBytes or more)
3) Browse to WPGATE/GWIA/SEND directory and remove any oversized mail. Also remove any oversized mail contained within the subdirectory gwava_stage.
4) Browse to WPGATE/GWIA/3RD/RECIEVE and remove any oversized mail. Also remove any oversized mail contained within the subdirectory gwava_stage.
5) Start GWAVA
To prevent this problem from reoccurring, a good practice is to limit mail size at the GroupWise level. The following TID has a guide on how this can be set:
